Didn't even think about going to singapore for this trip ,
Didn't even think about going to malaysia again for this trip .
Didn't even think about having durian and seafood every day ,
Didn't even think about missing the flight back to macau ,
Didn't even think about brushing my teeth in the airport's public toilet ,
Didn't even think about staying in a capsule hotel...
This trip is all about surprise and unexpected experience.
It's been three years since i've said goodbye to my summer holiday, for this year, i realized i couldn't miss it again,so i made myself a nine day summer holiday ...
then i started to plan where to go,Sri Lanka first hit my mind because of its beautiful name, but after thinking of its inconvinience of the transportation, risk to go alone and not so famous food , i gave it up but turn a country near by .
i wish to go to a place which is safe, convinient and with tasty food, Malaysia once again pop up on my mind,as i 've visited the east part of malaysia for my last visit,so this time i am going to the west part--Sabah,a worldwide famous diving paradise.
i thought spending my nine days in a diving paradise would be a bit too long and boring , but that's totally not after spending days there.
so i chose singapore as my second destination, it's just 3 hours flight away from macau, but it's totally different, it's brand new as shenzhen, orderly as hk,clean as no where else..that's probably what make it one of the richest country in the world.
Stayed in Sofitel Sentosa which is located in Sentosa Island , 20 minutes away from the airport.
this hotel 's quite big with 3 restaurants , outdoor swimming pool ,spa and a cafe lounge.and it's just 3 minutes walking distance to the beach .
this hotel is surrounded by trees as if you were in the forest, you could even hear the frog and birds waking you up in the early morning for a french breakfast buffet.
it's really a great resort for people to escape from the bustle.
so it might not be the best hotel to stay if you aim to spend all day out to discover more about singpore. it's perfect for those who just want a relexed weekend escape.
and i was surprised by the warm welcome that Sofitel Sentosa has prepared for me, this little frog--Thomas followed me wherever i go for the rest of my journey.
there's no doubt that it's expensive in singapore, but it depends on the way you spend the money.it costs you 30 singaporean dollars to the town by taxi from hotel, but if you take the free hotel shuttle to vivo city first, then take the subway to the city just costs you less than 2 singaporean dollars.
China town's only two stations away from the vivo city.
China Town in singapore is not like the other china towns i've been to , it's clean and orderly.which seemed like a fake china town
i thought i was in little india after seeing these Hindu sculpture.
Singapore 's a diversified country like the colors in this district. this district itself 's also diversified with the hindu and buddhist architecture all here in one district.
it pretty like the colors here.
that's what stopped me ~
after smelling the odour of the durian , i already can't wait tasting the musang king in malaysia, here in singapore, you could also get the top durian species --musang king
that's really really out of this world !!!!!
since you were in china town, don't forget to bargin with the shop owner.
Chijmes was a church surrounded by some European style restaurants. not much to see and not the best to taste the local food...
it's like any other new food center in china.
Little India in Singapre was bigger and cleaner than the little india in malaysia, I was impressed by this country for the reason that they could even keep the streets in little india clean.that's really something ~!!!
i stoped here cuz i was once again, attracted by its colorful colors.otherwise i didn't find there's any other reasons to keep me there.
the streets are clean in little india .
that really surprised me ..
Singapore 's making full use of the colors.
i really like the colorful walls here in this country.
off the clean subway,we took a walk around the marina bay . along the bay, there isn't many stands to sell the snacks or water .a bit disappointed about this since you always need something to eat while taking such a long walk as a professional foodie.
I really should give a big thumb up to this hand made ice cream on the marina bay.
this bridge looked plain at day time, but rather beautiful at night ,,,,
skywheel, the other name of romance.
Here i am in singapore
this bay looked a bit like Victoria harbour in HK,but to be honest, HK's more beautiful.
Singapore is called lion city , not because that there are lions in this country, but because of this merlion statue by the bay ,it 's said that there's feng shui with this statue to make singapore prosperous and lucky .
let me bring some luck home as well.......
Marina bay looked more beautiful at night time.
Finally all the nights lights got lighten up , we decided to conquer our fear of height and chanllenge the third tallest skywheel of the world .
it's my first time to see that there 's even table and meal setting up inside the cabin of the skywheel for the couples ,skywheel itself is already very romantic,if there's even table for two setting up for couples mainly ,this really makes it the most romantic thing in the world.
how romantic it's gonna be if there's such a guy, who said he's going to take you to the top of the world...
you could really have everything in your eyes up there.
i still think it's worth visiting thought i am bit fear of the height.
it costs you 30 singaporean dollar which is not expensive at all compare to the skywheels at home.
good night singapore...
that's the beach i mentioned before which is 3 minutes walking distance away from Sofitel Sentosa.
it might not be attractive compare to the beaches in malaysia.
but it's still a perfect spot for singaporean to get away.
a bunch of students were taking graduation pictures , this really reminded my school years.
There's free shuttle taking you to the universal studio from sofitel sentosa,
Univesal Studio 's like a theme park , i am not that into it,so i just hang around outside the park by doing some shoppings and eatting .
we like the candy shop most among those shops ~~~it's like every child's dream shop.and it's like every adult's childhood..
There's a malaysian food court inside, trust me,that's probably the most expensive malaysian food in the world.if you are going to malaysia ,hold on and have the authentic malayisn food there.cuz the malaysian food in singapore tasted a bit like fast food ...
to be honest, singapore 's not a good place to just travle.there isn't much to see as a tourist like me,cuz the best travel destination for me is simplest a place where you could have good food and good to take pictures .
singapore's a good place to live though,it's clean, green, orderly and civilized though expensive.....
took the night plane for 2.5 hours , then i am in Sabah la~~~~~we headed to the welcome restaurant as soon as we settled down,
i would say the food there's really really beyond my expectation, once again, i would say it's out of the world~!!!
There's no other but malaysian food's the best cusine in the world.
i like this simple lemonade a lot.don't miss it you come here in malaysia...
all the taxis here did not follow the meters, they just quoted you a price and you make the decision to take it or not.once again, remember to bargin.
our hotel --sky hotel's 10 minutes away from the airport while it costed us 30 RM cuz we didn't have any local number , it's more convinient to have the pick up service by the hotel,it's my first time to see that there's person there with my name on the board and wait for me like a vip haha. and this made the 30 RM worth.
sky hotel's got a rooftop swimming pool as well. that's what makes me choose to stay.
but i didn't even go for a swimm during my three days here due to the tight schedule ha
woke up and i thougt i could join any day group anytime , but it turned out wrong cuz most groups already started their day at 7 am. so we didn't make it to the hottest island which's always far away and you have to join the group.
instead, we join an afternoon goup to see the gibbon and fire fly~~~~
so we went to the closest island in the morning.
you could buy the ticket directly from the ferry terminal.
and you're always required to pay 10RM extra for the admission..
15 minites by speedy boat, then you 'll be in Manukan island.
didn't do much there, just walking around the beach and taking some pictures.
that's what summer is ~~~sunshine , beach,and beauty~~
can you feel summer?
can you feel the wind?
people come here to dive, swim, enjoy the sun bath,as for me, i just come here to take a look at the sea ..
took these nice views home by taking pictures.
can you feel the speed ?
Back to hotel and get changed to long pants and long sleeve shirts.cuz it's gonna be a lot of mosquitos while seeing the fire fly at night time.
the tour bus stopped here for us to take a look at the mosque on the water.it's called mosque on the water cuz it's built on the seaside , when the tide rises, it's like the floatting mosque on the water.
but what stopped us was the durian instead of the mosque.
the musang king here in malaysia was a lot cheaper than in singpore and macau lo
the tour guide had us to keep quiet while visiting the gibbon's home, cuz our noise would scare the animals away, while chinese people never learn how to keep quiet, i didnt know if it's because of the noise or because there's not much to see in this forest, i didn't see many gibbons or other animals as i expected .
had the worst afternoon tea in my life while waiting for the night. we got on the boat again and sought the the little spirit --fire fly.
fire fly 's my childhood, fire fly means summer in my childhood . it's been a long time since i saw the fire fly last due to the light pullution nowadays,we could barely see fire fly now.
of course i wanted to take my childhood home, unfortunately my camera 's not profectional enough to record down these fire flies.
it did look beautiful when all the fire flies light on one tree, which made the tree like a christmas tree, and we started singing Christmas song.
Woke up at 6, and we meant to join the group to Pulau Tiga, however it's been canceled because of the weather.
so we had to choose somewhere else to go ~we chose Sapi island which sound ridiculous in chinese and Mamutik island
Sapi island 's the closest island while it's not the best island among the islands i've visited these two days.
it's also the smallest among those three islands i've been to .
the beach 's small but with a lot more people than any other island.
but the water's clear as always.
However, Mautik's the best island among those three islands i've been to, with the clearest water and longest beach.
so i couldn't help jumpping into the sea la~
caught the early flight and 1 hou later, i was in Semporna la ~~~
off the plane, you'll see a lot of friendly people outside the airport like your fans, they are saying hello to you , smiling at you and nice to you by helpping you to take your luggage, yeah they are the taxi drivers.....
it takes you 25RM per person and 1.5 hours by taxi to the town from the airport .
the airport 's really out of town ....well, i believe the beautiful place 's always away,,,
checked ourselves in at the ferry and we took the speedy boat for 5 minutes , then we were in Singamata Rosort la ~
the weather's a bit out of our expectation, cuz i thought there's always sunny day on the seaside.
we were immediately warmly welcomed by the staff there as soon as we arrived.
the room didn't meet my expectation at all like the weather here.
i thought it's gonna be a nice room which matched the 848 RM i spent on.
we shared4 bath rooms with the other 6-8 rooms , and there's no hot water supply ...there's no hair dryer provided neither.
so everyday we just take the quick shower because of the cold water and dry our hair by the natural sea wind.
at first i blamed these bad facilities, but i found that it's kind of fun experiencing the life that we seldom have nowadays.
there's no wifi in the room, but i kind of enjoy sitting on the balcony and wait for my hair to get dry by the natural wind.
you could also take a walk to the attic and counting the stars up above the sky .
i enjoyed having a long chat with Amber after dinner on the attic every day.
i enjoyed these days i've got nothing to do on the resort.
everyday we were waken up by the engine sound of the boat, dressed anything we feel comfortable cuz you don't need to worry about anybody's judgement, and had malaysian breakast buffet by the sea.
took some walk and then prepared to go for the day trip.
we camed back at 2:30 , and the afternoon tea 's already ready in the restaurant .
then i organized my photos , ordered a glass of juice and sit until the dinner buffet begin again.
It felt truely good having nothing to do and nothing to worry on the water resort.
just eat ,sleep and waiting for someone to take you out for fun.
and you could easily fall aspleep by hearing the spindrift~~
sometimes i really enjoy wasting time like that.
that's how the resort look like during sunny days.
our day started at 9 am , and the staffs will take us to discover the unknown by speedy boat.
we visited the Sibuan军舰岛 on the second day~
we were welcomed by this group of child who just know the word"money" as soon as we arrived.
They were from Phinipine according to the staffs on the boat, i was curious why they came all the way down here , they 've got no passport , no food , no good accomendation here.
i am curious why they don't even plant something or anything to eat ,
i am curious how they manage to live here for a long time already .
i am curious why they asked for money bacause they could buy nothing in this island with the money.
i am curious if they could have a better life in their home country.
Do they enjoy people giving food , clothes to them without contrbuting anything?
or are they the criminals from their home country?
i really have a lot of questions why they came here ...
they were having the left food that we finished eating...
After registering our passport, we were protected by two body guards with guns each boat and started our diving day~
i was also curious about why we need the body guards with guns ....
i still didn't get the answer bacause they barely speak english.
these body guards were quite welcomed by the guests from China, cuz they looked really cool and in china, we couldn't stand closely to the army and take pictures with them for fun.
i was so glad i look white among them.
quite a pity i didn't go diving on that day, cuz i had my period ....
this period 's really out of my expectation.
and i've been waiting to dive for a long time, i didn't dive in other island until i was here in Semporna, that end out i could not dive at all for this trip? obsolutely no !!!
i managed to dive at the end which marked a good ending for my trip.
didn't know why they have the armies here, and if the children on the island was illegal immigrants, why did the army still keep the children there?
yeah i admit i am a bit too curious......
and we went to the Bohey Dulang Island 珍珠岛on the third day which was the last day in Singamata Resort.
it's so a beautiful day ~~~
40 minutes later , we were in the Bohey Dulang Island ~
the water's extremely clear, that you don't even need to dive into it to see the fish and coral .
we were arranged to climb up the mountain ,we didn't know what to see up there at all until we climbed up 600 meters ,we found it's totally worth climbing after we were up there.
it's like paradise ~!!!!!!
felt like it's the top of the world ~~~~
i was soooo happy to see this in my life~
thank god the weather's fairly fine.
then we off to dive in the middle of the sea after the staffs confirmed it's safe and good to dive.
i really cuoldn't help jumping into the hug of the occean though i still a bit fear of the unknown.
it's my first dive and i enjoyed it a lot .
i overcomed my fear and sought for the unknown under the water.thanks the staff for taking me all the way to see the starfish, sea horse, trepang, nemos and tough the sea urchin.
the world under the occean 's really beautiful ~~~
this capain 's really cool and advanturous,he swims like a fishl, thanks for the joy that you brought to us.
and thanks for keeping our journey safe.
it's you who showed me the confidence to jump into the unknown occean .
it's you who showed me how to act cool~~~
the weather changed a lot here, we met a storm all of a sudden, and it looked horrible in the middle of the sea when there's a storm.but i didn't feel scared cuz i fully trust the staffs here .
shared the boat the this family from Canton, they were really a happy family, i could feel the love among them sitting aside.
they always weared smiling faces, they shared everything new they met, they all liked to take the pictures with whatever new they met...
time flied and it's time to say goodbye to Singamata Resort la ~
a bit upset to say bye ,,,,
cuz the staff were so kind and helpful.
and i knew it's almost time to say bye to my sumer holiday as well.
off the boat, then we checked in in the seafest hotel which was by the ferry terminal.
the first thing was to take a hot bath when i arrived.cuz it's been days taking shower with cold water and it's torturing.
and it's only 5 minutes walking distance away from the downtown.
we decided to take a walk after settling down.
it's really small and could not even be called a town.
just several restaurants around .and the traffic 's a bit messy.'d better watch out.
we ordered the same dishes as we were in Kota Kinabalu, but it didn't tasted good as the dishes in Kota Kinabalu, maybe it's because i was not having the mood because of the farewell to Singamata...
Then it's another 2.5 hours flight , we were in KL to catch the flight home, but !!!!!!! i missed the flight home looooooo~!we were told the check in 's close when we were there, we were there half an hour late which was exactly the flight delay time of the previous flight from Semporna to KL,which means that if there was no delay for the first flight, i could surely make it on time !so air asia had me to either change my destination or cancel my flight then book another one for the next day. That's ridiculous, why did i need to pay extra for your delay?they explained that they won't be responsible for that since they 've advised me that there should be 3 hours gap between the flights when i made the the booking and i agreed with it .then i've got another question, if so, then why did you make my bookings done though you know exactly that there's no 3 hours gap between my flights.air asia really upset me lo
and we end up staying in capsule hotel for a night then caught the early flight home and ready to work as soon as i arrived.
first time to stay in a container,it's small, but seemed like you 've got almost everything you need cuz you don't really need many things, a plug to charge, a mirror , two pillows and a mattress, that's it .
shut down the cuitain, then the whole world 's yours.
Good bye, Semporna, good bye my summer holiday ....
the new term begins the moment i off the plane.then i'll start my hard working life la~~
maybe this trip was not that perfect, there's unexpected accident ,but at the same time, there's surprise experience.
this is called life.you always have some up and downs, but remember to smile and face it.
